Unlimited improvisation and experiments are just a little that can be said about it. The series was invented by quartet MASZYNA ALADYNA, and the point is to invite different musicians every time, so that the music will never be the same.

Opalińska & Whates Duo's concerts in Piec'Art are a part of a promo tour of their debut album - Lumière. It's an engaging recording from Polish pianist and British bassist.

With a lightness of touch and a darkness of sound, the piano and bass duo improvise on their unique arrangements of works by classic film and world cinema composers. Whether reinventing the familiar or unearthing unexpected gems, the duo explore these moving and expressive scores to create inspired, extraordinary music of brooding intensity.

It's the newest project of Tomek Grochot, and a compilation of experience of three proffesional musicians coming out of different musical genres, discovering together a blossom of electronics.

A project of graduates from musical Academies of Cracow and Katowice. Trio performs jazz standards and their own compositions rooted in mainstream jazz. Huge onstage experience of the artists gives the listener a certanity of unforgettable evening.

Tomasz Białowolski, Wojciech Szwugier and Piotr Skrzyński are students of Academy of Music in Kraków. They met years ago in school in Zamość, where they were kept together by their fascination in jazz music. Their music is a conversation between each other. Words become notes, notes become sentences and those into melodies with all the voices equally important.

Mateusz Szczypka's Locators Trio was formed in 2009 in an apartment in which the musicians were living together. They were inspired by the formula of modern guitar trio like the one's of Gilad Hekeselman and Hurt Rosenwinel.

The artists currently work on adapting their material for performances with guests. In an extended line-up, as a quartet, the band will perform in our club.

Jazz Band Ball Orchestra is a band formed at the verge of the sixties, inspired by the classical american jazz. And since those days the quintet is still active and winning festivals after festivals. Last year they won the award "Best Traditional Band" from european jazz magazine "Jazz Forum".  Since the eighties the band is invited year after year to Sacramento Jazz Jubilee festival.

Felix Martin is a versatile and innovative guitar player from Venezuela. He is known for his compositional abilities and his innovative techniques for playing two-handed tapping on the guitar. Felix uses a 14-string guitar that was custom built for his style of playing.
 
After graduating from high school, he moved to Boston to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, obtaining a scholarship for his abilities as a performer.
 
Besides being a professional guitarist, Felix works as a sound engineer, teacher, clinician, arranger, composer, songwriter and he has worked with a great variety of international artists in different musical styles such as Progressive Rock, Jazz, Fusion, Venezuelan folk, Reggae, World Music, Pop, etc.

Stefano Ferrian is an italian musician, composer and improvisor based in Novara-Italy. He’s an eclectic guitar/saxophone player involved in different musical genres. Since 2002 he played all over Europe in Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium,the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Sweden and Norway. FERRIAN’S NUTIMBRE is the Ferrian’s tribute to Jazz history.

The line-up features Luca Pissavini on double bass (Porsche Jazz Contest winner with Nido Workshop and Demetrio Stratos Prize winner with Nichelodeon), Vito Emanuele Galante on Trumpet (Porsche Jazz Contest winner with Nido Workshop), Simone Quatrana on piano, Fabrizio Carriero on drums and Stefano Ferrian on saxophones.

The quintet plays original compositions inspired by the jazz masters. Biggest influences are Thelonious Monk, Steve Lacy, Ornette Coleman, Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus, Sun RA, Miles Davis, Don Cherry, Bill Evans and nowadays musicians like Ken Vandermark, Tim Berne, Ellery Eskelin, Rob Mazurek and David Liebman. The result is a polyhedric kind of modern jazz with a classic thematic feeling. Each song has its own recognizable spirit with a strong and coherent direction in music.

Bodvar Tornes Trio is a Norwegian piano trio playing modern melodic jazz with its own unique signature, and could musically be compared to bands like Brad Mehldau Trio or Fred Hersch Trio. 
 
The band is doing an extensive norwegian tour this current winter/spring and has been described as an up-and-coming band to keep an eye on. It has also been selected to compete for the prize as "Norwegian Young Jazzmusicians 2012" which will take place later this year.

Bill Frisell, B.B. King, Tony Williams, John Scofield, Wayne Shorter, Archie Shepp, Charles Mingus and Thelonious Monk are a few out of many musicians and composers that has inspired this trio.

The band has received good critics for strong live preformance and good songs. During the spring of 2010 they won the competition “Jazz in Sight”, arranged by Bergen Jazzforum. The jury of the competition said: “Hullyboo stands out with varied and exiting material and a rock solid performance. The trio interacts well an shows high individual abilities. All topped by good communication with the audience.”

Hullyboo has played in Piec Art last year and now has just released a debut album, which will be promoted on the tour including our venue.
